Let's walk down memory lane a bit... As of today it has been over a year since I walked the stage to accept my Bachelors degree in Social Work. It doesn't seem that long ago, I swear. I remember the stress of the day. Trying to find the right outfit, I hadn't packed my apartment, I was hungry, and I was already running late. As much as I was excited, I really just wanted the ceremony to be over and get something to eat. Sooner than later, my name was called and the rest is history!
Fast forward to May 21 , 2016. It's Daemen's graduation day. I came to support my friends, and it felt different on the other side. A good different. I was still hungry and running late. But I felt proud to be there to witness my friends complete the last leg in their undergraduate race. Supporting the people and things that you care about just feels good.
I was sitting in the balcony and it was hot enough that I wasn't sure I would make it through the rest of the ceremony. The graduation program made a decent fan. Thank God.
It's a dope feeling seeing the people you care about accomplish the goals they put in front of themselves.
Congratulations to the Daemen College Class of 2016. A special shout out to my friends: Ellen, Raven, Michelle, Myesha, Parris, and Amanda Best.
Just remember, it's lit.
